episode 153 | biscuity tea
EPISODE 153 SHOW NOTES
Today I’m drinking Biscuit Tea from Yorkshire Tea, it really is a biscuity delight, it actually tastes of malty biscuits and is very soothing to both smell and drink.
I firstly discuss the merits of Drops Alpaca colour 9029 and if the name Wheat Field suits it better than Pickle Green?
I know which name I prefer.
FINISHED
I’ve been making pumpkins!!
Of course I have.
The pattern, from CaMaRose, is called Pumpkin Harvest and all the pumpkins have been designed by Lene Soholm.
It’s a fairly pricey pattern (6 euros) but I do think you get a lot for your money. There are so many different pumpkin variations and it’s so much comforting autumn fun picking a pumpkin and watching it grow.
I have a whole range of autumnal colours to choose from, a mix of Rowan Alpaca Classic and Jamieson leftovers from previous projects. The Alpaca Classic was used to make the Kinross shawl and the Jamieson the disastrous Smora hat.
HALF FINISHED
I’ve worked up one Conker Mitt in the green Drops Alpaca (Wheat Field or Pickle Green) and I’m not sure I like it. It’s just too squishy and round.
I’m working up a new sample so that I can re-work the original pattern, from 2017, so I’m going to try and find some different yarn and then add a lot more information into the pattern to make it better.
The original sample used Krityum Hand Dyed BFL yarn in the colour Thums Up and it’s such a lovely yarn with an amazing texture and stitch definition, I’m not sure if I can match it.

I’m continuing to work on my random granny square project, mainly because it brings me SO MUCH JOY!
I’m using all the leftovers from my DK weight calendar from Indie Yarn Club.
Now I’ve just got tiny amounts left so I decided to use them up in a simple granny square project and it is really making me so happy. I’m just going to see how many I can make with the scraps I have left, I’ve added in some additional Stylecraft Special DK to make the colours go a little further too, and hopefully can come up with enough to make a top. We shall see.

My So Faded is coming along nicely and third colour is lovely.
It’s living in the first ever project bag I bought at Yarndale 2016 from Clare at Birdstreet Yarn.
I’m using the recommended needles and making a size 3.
The yarns I’m using are:
First Colour - Unregistered Animagus by A Homespun House - a Harry Potter club colour that I won in Amy’s (@noblecharactercrafts) 2021 make nine makealong.
Second Colour - Aunt Marge & Ripper by Paper Stories - again Harry Potter themed!
Third Colour - Stan Shunpike by Paper Stories - it’s basically a Harry Potter Halloween Sweater at this point!
I’ve hit a bit of a snag on my Most Ardently socks this week, I’m so frustrated because I love the fabulous design by Kelly of Row, Row & Kades.
The yarn I’m using is Peony from Wild Rose Yarn and they are living in my Kelly Connor Designs frilly bag - a double Kelly project.
