Not too much to write home about this week after a much needed break for half term with my girly girl.

EPISODE 82 SHOW NOTES

NEW FREE PATTERN

Following the release of my new little roses video tutorial, I made a quick and easy baby blanket using Scheepjes Stonewashed and the little roses stitch pattern.

You can find both the stitch pattern and the blanket pattern in both UK and US terminology here.

WORK IN PROGRESS

I’m halfway through my Christmas Barf Socks using Christmas yarn which I loved in the skein and hate in the sock! Remind me not to make Christmas socks anymore, yeah?

I’m still working on the Cups Socks, the second installment in my year long tarot themed sock designs.

I have decided that I’m not keen on the way the stitch pattern is working up at 64 stitches so am currently trying to go down to 60 stitches but staying on 2.25mm needles. It’s a bit of an experiment but we shall see.

I am using my beloved Drops Nord in the Fog colourway (light blue) and Deep Ocean Mix (dark blue).

I’m also feeling slightly better about my No Frills Sweater now that you kind people sent me on my way to look up helix knitting. It’s completely solved my problem and I’m feeling much happier about the whole thing now thank you very much. I am using Malabrigo Sock in the Pearl colourway and Rowan Kidsilk Haze also in the Pearl colourway.

NEW AND NOTABLE

I’m working up a new version of another old pattern (I did mention that I had a lot of old patterns squirrelled away and I really meant it didn’t I?), this one was a circular shawl that Love Crochet had asked me to design for a special shawl edition of the magazine (now no longer in publication) back in 2016.

Re-making it has made me think that it would work much better as a circular baby blanket and I’m currently undecided on the colourful border stitches on my tres modern neutrals (and black) option. I’m totally ready to be swayed by your opinion on this one.

I had a wonderful trip to the Unravel yarn show and met some lovely people. I also snagged some gorgeous yarn from Black Elephant and Dusty Dimples.

My new (old) tarot deck is the Dreams of Gaia tarot deck by Ravynne Phelan.

Enjoy the podcast folks, and don’t forget to be awesome.
