episode 58 | words fail me

Words failed me today, I just could not get the right ones out but I think it's because I'm giddy with first (second) day of spring joy and the sun has been shining here in England all day. Huzzah!

Caravan of Love Knitted Shawl - the knitted version of this pattern in now live on Ravelry here although it doesn't matter if you buy the knitted or the crochet version, you will still receive both patterns for the one price. Everyone who has purchased the crochet version of the pattern will have received a copy of the knitted pattern in their Ravelry library automatically and hopefully been sent an email to let them know.

The knitted version is made using Cascade Heritage in Mustard (5652) and Vicki Brown Designs hand dyed 4ply sock yarn in Candy Floss Pop.

WIPs

Hay Sweater - I finished the body of my Hay Sweater and am halfway down one sleeve. It has become my evening telly watching knit and if I wasn't watching the jaw-dropping Wild Wild Country (seriously though, watch it and be amazed), then I might get more done. The pattern is from Laine Magazine Issue 3 and I'm using Drops Nord in the colour Plum.

I'm also designed a new pair of vintage socks using Socks Yeah in Ammolite which I got from lovely Heather at Pink Milk Crochet on Etsy (I think she's sold out of it now which is why I'm linking to Wool Warehouse.

I was originally going to make the Anouk Socks from Rachel Coopey, also in Laine Magazine Issue 3 but I found them a bit too tricky (I'm so lazy) so I'm making a pair of socks using the favourite stitch of the lady who owned my vintage stitch dictionary before me, the Twisted Rib Stitch. I can't wait for these to be finished and now I need to think of a good name for them.

Books

Slow Knitting turned out to be a bit of a disappointment, a bit blah, a bit of a advertorial for expensive American yarn. You might like it if you live in America though. I'm not sure.

Rowan Magazine 63 is out now and has some amazing patterns in it, in particular the Maida crocheted cardigan from Marie Wallin and the Foolan jumper from Lisa Richardson.

I also bought the cutest crochet book ever, Pica Pau by Yan Schenkel and I try to convince you that I bought it for Betsy but we all know that isn't true!

Other Stuff

I got the cutest knitting sticker, card and brooch set from Nastia Sleptsova on Etsy. Visit her shop, you will love it.
