EPISODE 141 SHOW NOTES

How can it be June already and it’s arrived here in the UK with a ton of rain, typical!

But I’ve been busy and have a couple of finished objects for you to enjoy.

FINISHED OBJECTS

I finished my Easter Socks.

They are simple vanilla socks with a shadow wrap (or dolphin) heel :D

The yarn is Regia Pairfect Rainbow Color in the 01731 colourway.

I used 2.25mm needles and 64sts.

NEW & FINISHED

I made a Snorlax for my friend’s birthday. He is adorable. For those of you not in the know (like me), he is a popular pokemon character and my friend’s favourite - I can totally see why, I relate to Snorlax.

The most excellent free pattern is from Loopy Catherine and it’s wonderful. The only thing I did differently is place his feet at the side of his tummy because he sits so beautifully and I didn’t want to ruin that.

He is made using Cascade 220 and a 4mm hook.

It’s all stash yarn, the teal colour doesn’t look like it’s still around unless it’s the Azure (8892) colourway (not sure, didn’t have a label) but it is lovely all the same and perfect for this project, Cascade 220 is perfect for amigurumi projects, it has a nice sturdy finish.

WIP

This weeks WIP is my stripey So Faded.

I’m using some old Madelinetosh stash in the colours Pop Rocks and Candlewick to make a simple, striped summer tee, I’m not fading my stripes though, just banging in some big stripes for maximum impact and a really bright short sleeved summer tee.

NEW & REVIVED

I have started working on my October socks again. These are a new design that got shelved because I didn’t like the way the pattern worked up on the foot but I’ve started a second one and fingers crossed I have a good solution.

I’m also making a second pair using some old stash again (I’m doing so well at getting the old stash out this year) this pair is in Cosmic Strings Rose Garden and I think I’m going to make these for a different friend’s birthday.

I’m also working on some more crochet 24 days cowls. The first version is using old stash (again) Louisa Harding yarns; Noema in Party and Cassia in Prince. Both yarns are listed as DK but suspiciously look different so I’m also going to start a version using Stylecraft Special DK in Magenta.

If you would like to test hook this for me then please leave a comment on the video or email me at emma@potterandbloom.com.

I ordered some of the Knitters Cord from Beautiful Knitters and I used it to try on my Wool & Honey, it was okay, not as smooth sailing as you would think but yes, definitely easier than putting the whole project on waste yarn etc.
