crochet pattern | callie cowl

I love this quick and easy Callie Cowl pattern, I whipped it up in a day when I had received some of the lovely soft Lang yarn for another project because I thought the colours looked smashing together, do you agree, oui/non?

For this version I used four colours of the super chunky weight Lang Yarns Kim (mustard, white, aubergine and duck egg), which combines wool with alpaca and polyester to make a really soft and fluffy (but not that chunky) yarn.

Because I noted that when I made my pink and green version using Debbie Bliss Roma, the pattern worked up much chunkier and I only had to use three balls of yarn to make a much bigger (double the size in fact) cowl.

For this version I used 3 x 100g balls of Debbie Bliss Roma but you can use any super chunky yarn you like, try to make sure that it something soft about it because it is going to smooshed up quite close to your face so no itches please. I currently am loving the Novita Hygge Wool - check out the awesome colours for this pattern - but it is wool so if you want a guaranteed non-itchy yarn go for Stylecraft Special XL Super Chunky which is 100% acrylic and the colour Mushroom is one of my absolute Stylecraft all-time favourites.

I also used a 12mm hook.

You can buy the pattern on Ravelry or Etsy or alternatively watch a video tutorial for the pattern on YouTube.

I hope you like this simple cowl pattern which I originally launched in March 2016. This year (2019) is the year where I am starting to add the option to either buy for a nominal amount (£1.50) or alternatively get certain patterns for free in the hope of making crochet patterns more accessible for everyone so please enjoy and share as much as you like.
